Live on the Vine is a 6 week mid-winter music festival that take place in Long Island’s unique vineyard tasting rooms, hotels and other venues on the East End. It has been recognized for its cultural tourism impact during an off season and has greatly stimulated the business economy during the cold winter months. Conceived in 2006, this event is well on its way to becoming a regional and even national attraction with great growth potential. In 2012 Winterfest Jazz on the Vine was awarded the National Destination Marketing Award by Americans for the Arts and Destination Marketing International, a prestigious award validating our work and our vision which includes expanding our overall musical selection to encompass talented performers in jazz, blues, soul and country (hence the name modification, “Live” on the Vine.)

Gorgeous Hamptons Sunset*Live Music*Exquisite Wine

IMG_0163Gorgeous Hamptons Sunset*Live Music*Exquisite Wine…..Greetings Hamptons Mouthpiece Readers…This summer is going to be very exciting and in keeping with my theme of bringing you information that you may not know…last week I visited Wolffer Estate Vineyard in Bridgehampton for Twilight Thursday a Hamptons tradition at the Winery on Sagg Road every Thursday from 5-8pm. Wolffer is so breath-taking and the perfect place to be on a Thursday night from 5-8pm relaxing with friends and listening to some real talented musicians while enjoying a glass of wine or you can purchase a bottle. I had a wonderful time seeing some friends I have not seen in awhile while sipping on one of my favorites at Wolffer their Rose. I went there specifically to see Alex…a new singer that is equally as beautiful as she is talented. Alex is the daughter of Lori Stokes co-anchor of Eyewitness News This Morning and Eyewitness News  and Brian Thompson, New Jersey Bureau Reporter for WNBC.

I am told Alex is going to be back at Wolffer performing this summer, she has a flair about her that is warm and embracing. As I sat listening to her sing I thought it would be great if she sang Valerie by Amy Winehouse because I thought her voice was jazzy and she would sound amazing and she sang just that song. Were you in my head Alex? She did not disappoint she was great and everyone loved her.

What’s next for Wolffer..well this Thursday 6/21/12
Iris Ornig, bassist and composer – eclectic jazz, inventive, unique style, iris+ornig
Sunset Friday’s…enjoy a beautiful sunset, live music and of course a glass of wine.

haitian+indieThis Friday 6/22/12 Haitian Indie soul artist Obed Jean Louis is a guitarist and composer who has performed in the Hamptons and New York with his unique style.

6/23/12 Celebrate the Group for the East End’s 40th Anniversary with a benefit and auction June 23rd from 6-11PM on the grounds of Wölffer Estate Vineyard!, Saturday June 23, 2012
For more information on events at Wolffer check out their website.
bedellIf you are on the NorthFork visit Bedell Cellars...I love this Vineyard and it is equally as beautiful as Wolffer…I had the pleasure of visiting that vineyard during Memorial Day weekend when I visited with friends. We had a fantastic time and I recommend as one of my favorite places to visit. For all of you Hamptons locals and visitors, you can take the Shelter Island Ferry or you can take that long drive through Riverhead….Make sure you go with friends and select someone to be the designated driver…Don’t drink and Drive…Your life and others around you are important. For more information for Bedell Cellars visit their website
Well that’s it Hamptons MouthPiece Readers...I can’t wait for Alex to come back out to the Hamptons to perform…Looking forward to hearing Iris Ornig this week. I love Jazz….
Come back this summer to cheek out what’s really happening in the Hamptons…things others are not highlighting.
