Michael Wudyka & Sons, Fran Drescher

Fun Day with Fran Drescher in the Hamptons….Wow what can I say it was pretty darn cool to meet Fran Drescher. I have been a fan of the Nanny and have seen every episode but recently my 11 year old has become a Fan and I find myself watching the Nanny all over again…It is just as funny today as it was many years ago. I was excited when I was asked by my good friend Michael Wuydka owner of both the Enclave Inn Hotels in the Hamptons and the East Hampton Studio to come and interview Fran to talk about her foundation Cancer Schmancer.  The one person I could think to bring with me was Allura because I knew what a huge fan she is of the Nanny, and Kurt even decided to come on his day off to take  photos for me.

The event was filled with games, slides, kinect for the xbox, food, live music and much, much more….Luann and Alex from the NY housewives showed up, Simon was there as well to my disappointment without the blue leather pants…Fran was an hour late and  the media was getting alittle restless waiting for her to arrive … Just then her car rolls in and out comes Fran in a beautiful White jacket, blue jeans, black Hair flowing and her signature voice saying I am so sorry I am late. She immediately gets busy, she wasted no time….She posed for her photo with anyone that wanted to take pictures with her…including yours truly and the new generation fan. She was very warm and just so patient…see more photo’s at

I have to tell you that I really thought her Nanny voice was all acting, so you can imagine my surprise when I realized that it was not an act. I was alittle disappointed that I did not get an opportunity to have a one-to-one interview with her to talk about the Nanny, her new show Happily Divorced, working with her ex-husband ,her beloved Foundation Cancer Schmancer and her new focus; early awareness for children and teens… However I was able to get a small video where she is so open about her own fight with cancer and just how important it is to reach out to women to inform them about early detection and the importance of having yearly doctor visits to the gynecologist and knowing your own body. The Cancer Schmancer Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that all women with cancer are diagnosed with cancer during Stage 1, when it is most curable, through education, prevention, early detection and policy change. Take a look at this video…
Cancer Schmancer has launched their Van line in both NY and California to spread awareness and early detection…Thank you Fran for bringing awareness and reaching out to women who might not seek medical attention due to no health insurance. Thank you Michael Wudyka for partnering with Cancer Schmancer to address healthy eating for our young people and giving them a place to have fun and eat healthy. Congratulations on being Father of the Year…
I end with this video of Leah Laurenti past IDOL contestant who sang at the Family Fun day and I just loved her…She has such a soulful sound….take a listen and judge for yourself.
till next time….

What You’ll Find: 7,000 square feet of East Hampton patio space, outdoor daybeds and plush banquettes. The latter of which were aligned to form a catwalk. Helpful should a spontaneous walk-off break out.

What You Seek: The distinct feeling that you’re on a deserted Caribbean island. But with a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system. What You’ll Find: A deck of 12 VIP cabanas cut off from civilization by a wall of potted palm trees, all brought to you by the Windsor folks. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to communicate with the outside world through message in a bottle service.
The Elm
Opens May 27, Fri-Sat nights, The Elm, 230 Elm St, Southampton, 631-377-3900
What You Seek: Multi-floor, sexed-up gatherings where burlesque dancers outnumber share-house kids.

Nobu at the Beach
Opening early summer, Nobu at the Beach, 281 County Rd 39, Southampton, 631-287-9888
What You Seek: A way to finally bring Nobu with you on vacation.

What You Seek: A ride to the beach.
What You’ll Find: A ride to the beach. For free. In an eco-friendly smart car. Apparently you can’t put a monetary value on saving trees.

The Phoenix Rises…Yes my friends the Phoenix has Risen! Ahhhh today is the 1st day of the new chapter in my life and that thought is both exhilarating and nerve wrecking. My entire working life has always revolved around working for other people and being in a controlled situation. I have decided that I am going to be in charge of my own destiny and try to make it on my own. There is nothing to fear but fear itself. Sometimes you need that kick in the ass to get the motor going and that is what I needed. I have made a lot of money for a lot of people over the last 20 years, now is that time to put forth that energy and invest in myself.

There are so many different things I want to do and so many ideas that I look forward to bringing to life, but I will take the same road that I have implemented for my daughter Danielle with her college process. Our strategy is for her to take on one project per week, it is an effective strategy when working with a teenager who feels overwhelmed with the entire college process. So although I am multi facited, in the beginning I will start off with one project and grow from there.

I have been a MouthPiece for many companies for the last decade and they have become successful from me promoting their business, and in the end was it appreciated maybe, but always underestimated. So “We do the talking for you” will be taking our show on the road. What do you want me to talk about? How about a designer that I saw last night in NYC? Sally Wu (Act One), showed her Spring/Summer line to a group of Fashionista’s in NYC last night. The champagne was chilled and flowing and the “Ready-to-Wear” Line was feminine, yet strong. I liked many of the pieces and this is probably a designer whose clothes I would feel comfortable in. Or I could talk about designer “Calvin Tran” this designer who has 3 locations and  is one of the designers on the Bravo hit show “The Fashion Show” which debuted yesterday November 19th. There was plenty of drama and the jury is still out on which show I prefer Project Runway of The Fashion Show. Of the many people that attended Act One Collection fashion show, spotted was celebrity Chef, 15 year old Greg Grossman made a special appearance for the Act One Spring/Summer collection, if you have never had the extreme pleasure of sampling Greg’s dishes then you just don’t know what you are missing, rumor has it that young chef Greg will be helping BHGH behind the scenes on Extreme Makeover Home Edition set. Congratulations Greg! So there it is my soon to be followers, who will I be talking about next week…. As always your comments are always welcomed.
