Hamptons Mouthpiece; March is Women’s History Month and March 8th is International Women’s Day.. In celebration of Women’s History month Hamptons Mouthpiece and Photography by Kurt were invited to the launch of INSPIRATION…Profiles of Black Women changing our world..by “Crystal McCrary and Photographs by Lauri Lyons. Kurt was stationed in his spot on the red Carpet getting those photos as I was waiting my turn to have an opportunity to ask my one question ..”What words of Inspiration would you give to young women as they embark on their journey to a successful career
Majora Carter, Activist-Environmentalist, featured in Inspiration
“Not now does not mean Not Ever
Gayle King, Television/Radio Host-Author-Magazine Editor, featured in Inspiration.. “Never give up”
June Ambrose, celebrity stylist and featured in Inspiration: “Dream with your eyes open”
Susan Taylor: Writer-Magazine Editor also featured in Inspiration”Love yourself”
Unfortunately I was unable to get more quotes from some of the other women because the room quickly filled up…I took a walk through the museum and I was fascinated with the images from the book and it was awesome seeing many of these women in person.
I will say however the highlight of my evening was meeting Ruby Dee and Michael Kenneth Williams from my favorite show “Board Walk Empire”
Lori Stokes, ABC |
I had an opportunity to speak with Lori Stokes and I really like her, we met once before at Gurney’s Inn in Montauk. As I was interviewing her Kurt interrupted to inform her that he had pictures of her and her girls..hmmm no video to show because he ruined it….I am sure I will have another opportunity to interview Lori again as she thoroughly enjoys visiting Montauk.
Iman |
I could not stay any longer because it was a long commute back to Sag Harbor, and as we were about to leave who walks in looking ever so glamorous and commanding the attention of all in her presence was no other than IMAN…Check her out in this purple number…She is another one of the 30 women featured in Inspiration.
I am thankful to my good friend Sharon Lopez,

They are occupying the space that was the formal home to restaurants like “Peter Miller’s”, JLX, Pomme Cafe. The inside looked beautiful, it was warm and inviting. I asked Allura what she thought and she loved it, as soon as you walk in you cannot help but notice the incredibly humongous Fish Tank. This tank is beautiful and there is nothing more relaxing than watching fish swim around in water, it was the perfect addition to this restaurant, they are still tweaking it, and adding fish..I am told it took 10 people to put it in.
Greetings Hamptons MouthPiece Readers….I am trying out something new, bringing you restaurant news each month…if there is much excitment, then maybe I will try it everyweek. Thanks to my wonderful friends at Word Hampton for Providing me with this information so I can continue to keep you in the know…..
