Hamptons Happenings March 2013 …Greetings Hamptons MouthPiece Readers…It is hard to believe that March is here already, it is just fascinating how quick the months come and go. There is much to do in the Hamptons for the month of March, a great time to visit for the weekend and for you locals a great time to stop hibernating in your homes. The Annual St. Patrick’s day Parade in Montauk celebrating its 51st year  will now kick off at 11:30am on Sunday March 17th 2013 “Rain or Shine starting at Edgemere Road at 11:30 a.m. in Montauk, NY. The parade will continue up Edgemere Road and then turns on to Main Street past the reviewing stand on the Green. It then concludes at the end of Main Street by the IGA. This is New York’s second largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade and it is always a fun event  many local restaurants that have been closed will be reopening for the season. Starting at 10 a.m. on the Green, the Montauk Chamber of Commerce will be serving hot clam chowder in your very own St. Patrick’s Day Parade souvenir mug. Montauk’s finest clam chowder is made and donated by local restaurants.

beautiful sunset in Sag Harbor NY, photo by Vanessa Leggard

Beautiful Sunrise in Sag Harbor…The sunrise in Sag Harbor are so breath-taking, I just love living here year-round and enjoying the absolute beauty of this seaside town. Every Morning I take my daughter to school and we drive over the bridge we capture beautiful sunrises all year long…It is one of the few towns in the Hamptons that has a long wharf for boats and yachts to dock. The town has a beach located on Main Street, there are between 15-20 restaurants throughout Sag Harbor. We have a local theater with live performances through-out the year, and the people are great. Don’t take my bias word…visit for yourself.

Greetings Hamptons MouthPiece Readers...Can you believe that January is over and it is February 2013…it often amazes me on how quickly the days go by. I love February, I guess it’s because I have always loved Valentine’s Day, I love to see couples in love, Red is my favorite color, February is National Heart awareness month, local businesses are busy like flower shops and Restaurants for Valentine’s Day and its Black History Month. Many people continue to think there is nothing to do in the Hamptons in the Winter, but that is not the case. There are many things happening during the month of February…great time to spend a romantic weekend in the Hamptons, nothing better than snuggling on a cold winter day under a heavy blanket nice and cozy, next to the one you love. Many Hamptons Inns have winter specials, reach out to your favorites and book a room, spend Valentine’s Weekend in the Hamptons.

Sag Harbor, NY Greetings Hamptons Mouthpiece Readers….Coastal Living Magazine has nominated Sag Harbor as a TOP TEN finalist in their contest for America’s Happiest Seaside Town in 2013. The winning town will be featured in the June 2013 issue of Coastal Living Magazine. There is such tranquillity in living by the sea. Another place that encapsulates that feeling is Newport Beach. I mean, no one can deny that the California beaches are stunning, and it’s no wonder that so many people live there. With so many luxurious houses and apartments overlooking a variety of stunning Californian beaches, as seen on Reali, many are drawn to living there. However, there’s no saying that these are the happiest seaside towns though, no matter how beautiful the beaches there may be! There’s no denying that there’s a lot you can get up to in California; I hear that whale watching california is fantastic. However, I love the beautiful town of Sag Harbor and I think we’ve got a big chance of winning. I have been coming to Sag Harbor for the last 22 years. I have raised my two daughters in this town and made some of the most amazing friendships. Main Street is happening all the time, even in January it is hard to find a parking spot on Main Street on a Saturday afternoon. The beach is on Main Street and there are plenty of delicious places to eat. Love Live theater, then you would definitely want to visit Bay Street Theatre, there are many productions to choose from and something for all ages. There is so much to do in Sag Harbor, and if you have never visited, please come to HarborFrost in February..click here for more information. http://sagharborchamber.com/harborfrost/
