(Southampton, NY) The Southampton Inn a perfect getaway stay.…Greetings Hamptons Mouthpiece Readers, the start of the summer in the Hamptons will be here in less than 12 days and the East End will be filled with people from across the globe vacationing in the Hamptons. Memorial Day symbolizes the beginning of the Summer season, lets just hope we will get the warm weather. This is really up to Mother Nature, she seems to be full of humor lately, teasing us with 80 degree weather one day and the next day it’s freezing with a frost advisory.

I had the pleasure to take a tour of the Southampton Inn a month ago and  although I have been there many times I was unaware of all the amenities that the Inn offers its guests. Unlike many of the other hotels in the Hamptons, the Southampton Inn is a premiere travel destination stay that is centrally located in the heart of Southampton village and walking distance to the one of the Hampton’s Voted best beaches in America, Coopers Beach. The Southampton Inn is located in Southampton Village on the East End of Long Island, New York on five acres of manicured lawns and landscaped gardens. ThisTudor-style Inn is open year round, is a local landmark and the choice hotel for thousands of visitors who travel to the South Fork of Long Island and the Hamptons each year. The Inn welcomes guests looking for a Long Island getaway, a long-awaited vacation in the Hamptons, a romantic weekend, a family gathering or corporate retreat. Unique stores and boutiques, museums, art galleries, quaint and upscale dining and endless entertainment. During the summer, the Inn provides complimentary shuttle service to beautiful Cooper’s Beach. The staff  can coordinate restaurant reservations, fishing trips, surfing lessons, golf tee times, bicycle rentals, tours of local museums, and visits to historic sites and wineries..

The Kids Room is equipped with a Television, DVD player, video games, ping pong table and ice cream. What I liked is the kids room is located next to the outdoor patio. If the kids get bored being in the pool and you are not ready to leave the child/children can go into the kids room and hang out there for a while.  The Southampton Inn welcomes pets too so you don’t have to leave your family pet behind?

Every Wednesday this summer enjoy a free concert at Agawam Park or Coopers Beach, presented by the Southampton Cultural Center. All shows start at 6:30pm-8:30pm.

Although my tour was given on a cold day, the beauty of the property was just as beautiful had it been a warm summer day. The landscaping is exquisite and yet relaxing, the outdoor pool patio is furnished with a 50 foot pool that is 3-4 feet deep, an outdoor bar, tennis courts and a garden of which they grow their own herbs and tomatoes. The Outdoor seating is perfect for a cocktail party that is an option, just call the Inn to get available dates and rates. The banquet room is available for rental year-long and what makes it very special is it has its own private entrance.

Corporate:

• The Southampton Inn is the perfect place for companies to hold  board meetings, only 40-60 minutes from the Islip airport, can accommodate up to 80 people.
• Training classrooms for up to 45 people
• customized packages for corporate retreats (that could include but not limited to vineyard visits, deep-sea fishing, beach parties)

The rooms are cozy and warm, feels like home, the beds are Tempur-Pedic mattresses

The Southampton Inn is unlike many Hamptons hotels and Inns, they are open year-round and a staple in the community. During Hurricane Sandy, they opened their doors to misplaced victims and provided them with an opportunity to take showers and have something warm to drink and eat. Many areas in the Hamptons were hit hard by Sandy and many workers were here working 24 hours non-stop, The Southampton Inn provided these workers with a place to stay.

One of the amenities that I found interesting is that the Inn allows anyone to “Rent your own Restaurant” perfect if you would like to host an event and bring in your own caterers. Room service is available, you can have it sent to your room or you have a choice to have OSO TOGO and enjoy your meal sitting on the lawn and watching the sunset.
