THE KATHY CAMPAIGN
It has been almost four months since the double-whammy of Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter hit our shores…and their boat, the Kathy.
This boat is a mobile science station from which we test water quality, sample sediment and monitor marine life. The Kathy is currently undergoing a serious restoration effort…and she needs YOUR support!
A large part of the work at Peconic Baykeeper involves patrolling the water, continually identifying and responding to pollution events and shoreline changes. The Kathy is critical in Peconic Baykeeper’s ability to engage the community and restore our local waters. Without her, they are unable to fully satisfy the demands of our mission, bringing clean water back to Long Island.

I love February, I guess it’s because I have always loved Valentine’s Day, I love to see couples in love, Red is my favorite color, February is National Heart awareness month, local businesses are busy like flower shops and Restaurants for Valentine’s Day and its Black History Month. Many people continue to think there is nothing to do in the Hamptons in the Winter, but that is not the case.
